Recovery Advocate
Helena “Laney” Pieper supports residential clients by providing trauma-informed guidance, DBT skills, and emotional support. With a background in psychology, she works directly with clients, communicating their needs and progress to the staff.
Laney plays an active role in helping clients reach important milestones, regulate emotions, rebuild their lives, and learn how to form healthy relationships. She is able to relate deeply to clients and model the possibilities of long-term healing.
The most memorable moment of her recovery journey so far is helping a newcomer get clean. She celebrates her clean date on September 9, 2022. Her experience allows her to support clients working through trauma, depression, and addictive behaviors with empathy, authenticity, and enthusiasm.
Laney's strengths include grounding clients during crises, offering a supportive presence, helping them find their spark, creating a fun atmosphere, and facilitating emotional regulation.
Outside of work, she enjoys practicing Pilates, jewelry making, and attending music festivals, and she previously played collegiate lacrosse. Her favorite flag is the flag of Barbados.
