Therapist
Kimberly is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with clients at Luna on weekends. Her clinical experience includes supporting survivors of human trafficking and counseling within residential, PHP, and IOP addiction treatment settings, facilitating groups and working with both individuals and couples. Over time her clinical focus has increasingly centered on trauma, women's issues, addiction recovery, and the connection between emotional experience and the nervous system.
Kimberly believes healing is most effective when clients feel safe, understood, and supported without judgment. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized, recognizing that there is no single path to healing or recovery. She helps clients understand how past experiences may continue to influence their thoughts, emotions, relationships, and nervous system while developing practical tools for greater regulation and resilience.
Kimberly earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Baptist University and her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She became certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2023 and has continued advanced training in Somatic Experiencing through Somatic Experiencing International, along with developing an Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed approach to her work. She integrates EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, Parts Work, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and other trauma informed approaches based on each client's needs and goals. Her areas of focus include trauma, PTSD and complex trauma, addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression and stress, women's issues, and relationship and life transitions.
Outside of Luna, Kimberly assists Somatic Experiencing trainings, maintains a private practice, and is a 200 hour certified yoga teacher.
