Dani Peltier
Dani is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor with over a decade of experience specializing in substance use disorders. At Luna's residential program, Dani works closely with clients and their families to teach them how to better support each other throughout the recovery process. On weekends, she facilitates group sessions focused on building communication skills and strengthening connections to foster a supportive and healing environment.
Dani received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Texas at Austin, and her Master's degree at the University of Houston. Dani's experience consists of working with both adolescents and adults in residential and outpatient settings. While in graduate school, she interned with The Daring Way™ where she was trained in shame resilience theory based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, and later became a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator.
In addition, Dani is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a humanistic, attachment-based approach that helps families strengthen emotional bonds and cultivate secure, supportive connections. She integrates EFT with shame resilience principles because she believes addressing these foundational dynamics is essential to overcoming addiction and other mental health challenges. Dani's practice is anchored in creating a safe, collaborative space where families can heal, grow, and support one another more effectively.
Outside of work, Dani enjoys playing social sports like softball and sand volleyball, traveling to new places, and attending live sporting events with friends.
