Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program provides clinical support through flexible morning or evening programming. IOP may follow the completion of a residential treatment program, or serve as the program of choice if a residential program isn't medically or clinically indicated.

A Flexible Morning or
Evening Program
Who It's For
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for individuals
who require a
substantial level of support
and treatment for substance use disorder and co-occurring
issues, but who
don't need round-the-clock supervision. The program can be used as a stand-alone course of
treatment, or as a "step down" from a higher level of care,
such as our Residential Treatment or Partial Hospitalization
programs. The flexible nature of IOP makes it a good solution
for individuals with work and family obligations that may
prevent them from choosing one of our other programs.
Program Structure and Duration
Our IOP is offered at our warm and welcoming treatment
center in
central Houston. While program duration is dependent on an individual's
needs, most clients move through IOP in
8 to 12 weeks. Programming takes place for three hours a day, three days a week, onsite
at our outpatient treatment center. Our flexible
morning and evening options
allow clients to receive intensive treatment with minimal
disruptions to their daily routine.
Intensive outpatient programming is less structured than PHP. Our IOP
includes a combination of individual therapy, group therapy and
educational group sessions, and clients are also provided with
exercises to work through outside of in-person therapy and treatment.
Family therapy is often integrated into IOP, allowing family members
to become part of the healing journey.
