Shannon Tantillo
With more than 35 years of experience in the behavioral health field, Shannon has provided care in research, detox, inpatient residential, IOP, and outpatient settings for adults, adolescents, and families. She is especially experienced in working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ or who are living with HIV.
Shannon is a licensed clinical social worker and is licensed in chemical dependency counseling. She also holds advanced clinical practitioner and supervisory certification and is certified as a trauma-informed yoga-instructor.
Clients appreciate Shannon’s calm, grounded, relational, and nonjudgmental style, which helps them feel comfortable opening up about sensitive issues. She uses her vast knowledge around behavioral health and wellness issues to answer questions and educate groups in a way that is practical and applicable to their level of understanding. As a trained EMDR therapist, Shannon uses this modality to aid in more rapid and long lasting healing from traumatic events in clients’ lives, which lessens their symptoms of emotional disturbance. She also utilizes somatic awareness, which explores and validates emotion and facilitates processing in a safe atmosphere.
