Leah Huggs
Leah provides clients with individualized care as part of their treatment for addiction or other existing health and psychiatric problems. She became motivated to work in the field after working in an ER. There, she witnessed people come in seeking medical help in order to get clean, but not receive proper care and compassion.
Her philosophy is that people experiencing addiction deserve a place to safely and comfortably detox and get through the early steps of recovery feeling supported and understood. She believes that recovery is a journey that requires not just medical intervention, but a supportive community that empowers individuals to reclaim their lives. Leah is also a strong advocate for reducing the stigma associated with addiction, as well as encouraging open conversations and a more empathetic societal approach.
Leah takes pride in being able to show clients that there are people out there who want to help and give them the care and support they are searching for. She finds that getting to know each client on a deeper level and seeing the change in them from their admission to discharge is truly inspiring and amazing. She has been working in the field for over five years now and strives to continuously grow in her career.
Outside of work and her love for nursing, Leah enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves to travel.
